Blass Communications rebrands as Blass Marketing

OLD CHATHAM — Blass Communications is rebranding as Blass Marketing to better represent its wider range of marketing services, and has added three new divisions to reflect the firm’s expanded areas of focused expertise.

Along with a new brand name, the firm has a new logo, color palette, and four entirely new websites, one for Blass Marketing and one for each of its new divisions: Blass Research, Blass Public Relations and Blass Photography.

In recent years, the 47 year-old, second-generation firm has increased its focus in market research/consumer insight, technology, and creative, and dedicated even more resources to website design, search engine optimization, and e-commerce, providing a full complement of services to satisfy client needs now and in the future.

“Traditional marketing is more about talking at people. We help our clients develop marketing programs that engage with people and help build customer relationships. We respond to both the needs of our clients and the desires of their customers. Our team thinks entrepreneurially, and then translates that vision into a successful client marketing program,” said Ken Blass, president and CEO.

Blass Research expands beyond the firm’s 30-year expertise in market research to include trend research, product development, and concept ideation, and other marketing disciplines crucial to identifying customer needs, new opportunities, and industry changes.

In 2014, the firm opened an office in Charlotte, NC, and is aggressively capturing a portion of this rapidly growing business market. Kathy Blass Weiss, Ken Blass’s sister and the firm’s executive vice president, leads the Charlotte office, bringing her expertise in focus-group moderation, concept testing, brand audits, advertising and promotion testing, and marketing strategy.

“We see increasing needs for research outside the realm of communications, especially in the areas of product development, innovation, and consumer insight,” Weiss said.

The Blass Public Relations division has a dedicated team to respond to clients who want proactive PR and social media outreach services, message development, community relations, and internal communications. The firm also has team members with extensive crisis communications experience.

Blass Photography provides commercial photography to companies and other marketing firms from its two large studios, as well as on location.

The predecessor to Blass Communications and Blass Marketing, R.T. Blass, Inc., was founded in 1969 by Ronald Blass. Blass grew to a full-service marketing and public relations firm serving clients regionally, nationally, and internationally. Services have grown to include brand strategy, market research, web development, SEO and hosting, advertising, and commercial photography.
